Dick has been making short Trashy style black comedies and filmic disasterpieces since 1993. Mostly funded on Centrelink loans, some of his films have gained notoriety and have been nominated for and sometimes won awards at various festivals. For his films, he has bred flies, lost crew members in the bush, been harassed by police, scarred, embarrassed and probably destroyed the careers of various cast and crew members involved. All for the sake of art!

He founded the Trasharama-agogo National Short Film Festival in 1997 as a way to network with others, screen his films and share his love of lowbrow entertainment with other filmic freaknics. As a hobby, Dick plays in Adelaide bad assed Rock band, KAMIKAZE.
