1998
This
year started off similarly to 97, I hired a data projector, about
100 chairs and booked the Mad Love Bar. The slight mishap being that
come the day of the show, I trudged down there to set up and wait
for the arrival of the chairs, only to find
THE
PLACE HAD BEEN CLOSED DOWN BY THE LIQUOR LICENSING BUREAU!!!!
I sat outside banging my head against the wall with fellow losers
'The Mark of Cain' who had all their band equipment still inside.
(they eventually got it out) Somehow no-one thought to tell me of
this tiny glitch in my well organised and expensive little venture!
Cancelled everything, and held it a week later at the Producers Hotel
Beer garden. Lucky I have an uncanny knack of almost always landing
on my feet. It turned out great! 11 films from all over Oz screened
to a full and inebriated beer garden. The bands that rocked the foundations
were 'Madonna's Armpits' and 'Fear and Loathing'.
